Bad Boy Rocketry is excited to collaborate with Ken Foss Designs and CF Fluid Art to bring their design talents to the hobby. Ken Foss Designs Upscale Hi Flier The Estes Hi Flier started out as a simple beginner’s rocket. It was easy to assemble with big fins and streamer recovery that made it an ideal “first rocket” that was used in classroom builds and group projects. What made it stand out from the crowd was the incredible flight performance. When built correctly it was capable out-of-sight flights on a “C” motor and became a very popular rocket. This popularity led to Estes making their own upscale of it, the “Hi Flier XL”. This larger version, powered by an “E” motor, increased the rocket’s popularity and led to several upscale reproductions. The Ken Foss Designs Hi Flier upscales this classic even further to a 2.6 diameter, 4 foot tall, monster! Kit includes: Heavy-wall Rocketarium tubes, Aerotech nose cone, Bad Boy Rocketry laser-cut plywood fins and rings, 29mm extra long motor tube, and Kevlar shock cord along with vinyl decals from CF Fluid Art. YOU provide the motor retention, parachute, rail buttons, and skill. A Top Flight 30 inch parachute (not included) is what Ken uses and is available in our store along with 1010 rail buttons – launch lugs may be allowed in your region but are not recommended for flights over “G”. A step-by-step instruction sheet is included to guide your assembly. Kit does NOT include: motors, ignitors or launch equipment. Full-fin vinyl decals from CF Fluid art enhance the details of the original’s graphic design with pinstripes and simplifies painting with a solid-color body and black nosecone. (Also, since the decals do not have red, it is easy to make your Hi Flier a different color for a unique look). This kit builds a head-turning rocket with outstanding performance. A high-power capable airframe allows for H-motor flights to truly make it a Hi-flier of your own. This is a mid to high power rocket capable of G to H flights. It is recommended for Level one certified flyers and intended to be launched at clubs. This is not the kind of rocket you take to the park and fly. This rocket is not for beginners and requires you to cut your own fin slots and have an intermediate skill level. Please follow the NAR safety code when flying this, or any, rocket.
