Watch it! It’s a gang of Snowmen/women ready to take over your Christmas tree, your holiday dinner table or your winter wonderland. They are hyped up on holiday cheer and ready to rumble. Each vintage (acrylic? plastic? faux frosted glass?) snowman wears gloves so they won’t leave fingerprints. Just kidding folks. All five are in very good condition. These five snow people (about 4-1/4 in, height varies by the size of the hat) have various occupations and/or hobbies. Although each sports a charcoal-like smile, rosy cheeks and a carrot nose, each has his/her own personality. Each has its original hanging string (I always used them in a holiday display on top of the old piano.) Each of these five are perfect, although you can see remnants of the residue from the original tag on their back side — When I first got them I tried to remove it but Fiona the firefighter got upset and threatened to call Clint the cop on me so I apologized and didn’t try that again. Here are the five you will be getting in this buy it now: 1. Friendly Frank the fisherman – He’s just returned from a successful round of ice-fishing on Lake Erie. He’s toting a fishing pole with a fish on the line. His yellow straw hat has a hole in the back and he sports a flash red scarf (see pic). 2. Clint the cop – No cop on the corner could be as helpful as Clint. Clint comes with a whistle in case some toughs cause problems. He wears his hat and blue lapels and I really think that pad is for tickets he’s supposed to write. 3. Fiona the firefighter – Fiona always wanted to be a firefighter so she went to the Ohio Fire Academy and joined the city’s fire station no. 1 (check out the helmet she’s wearing). 4. Cow Girl Colleen – Colleen ran away to join a rodeo so you can be sure she has lots of stories to share with the family this holiday season. Here she demonstrates her roping techniques. 5. Anonymous Amos – I’m truly not sure what Amos does for the living. My family came up with an array of possible occupations, none of which could be repeated in this ad. All five are a fun-loving group, eager to share in your holiday festivities. I’m also including Peter the Professor, a testy bloke who got upset with a little scamp one holiday season and threw his book at the lad! He insisted on being included in the deal and who am I to argue with a teacher? I got this gang at Donzell’s, a wonderful florist/holiday shop in Akron, Ohio, decades ago. I’d let the gang out for the holidays each year and then packed them away safe and sound, although there were many complaints from the gang as they were wrapped away in paper towels each year. My family also bemoaned their absence for they always evoked some strange stories. The gang is a perfectly friendly group eager to join your family this season.
